Odette is an actor, writer, performance artist and educator based in London and originally from Essex. Odette trained at Bath Spa University receiving a First Class degree in Acting (BA Hons) and BASCC in armed and unarmed Stage Combat.
Upon graduating, Odette has worked with Moon House Theatre both as an actor, social media assistant and co-writer, where she toured their physical theatre piece The Neat Freak which celebrated a four star rating at the Buxton Fringe Festival 2019. After pandemic guidelines changed, The Neat Freak toured around The Camden Fringe, Sparkfest (Bath), Birmingham and Manchester Fringe Festival in 2021. Although Odette has originally had her roots in the theatre, with a background in Stanislavsky acting, performance-through-movement and singing, she also specialises in improv from consistent immersive experience, a good ear for accents and a strong ability for acting for screen. She has also worked as a camera operator, script supervisor and producer during her training in screen acting, and has done all of her own stunts on camera!
After undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer from 2020-23, Odette is particularly interested in her work conveying a theme around healing, identity and challenging topics normally looked at from one view point. As an educator, she believes in allowing all voices to be heard and the power that has through knowledge. She specialises in writing both poetry, spoken word and scripts that provoke another stance, focussing on invisible illness, mental health and unrequited love in a dark, yet comedic way.
